IPEC 2026 Successfully Held in Dalian!

From May 22 to 24, 2026, 7th Asia-Pacific Conference on Image Processing, Electronics and Computers (IPEC 2026) successfully concluded in Dalian, China. The conference was hosted by Dalian Jiaotong University, organized by the School of Electrical Engineering of Dalian Jiaotong University and the International Association of Applied Science and Technology (IAAST). With "Image Processing, Electronics and Computers" as the core theme, the conference gathered authoritative experts, scholars and technical elites from universities and research institutions around the world, focusing on academic frontiers and industrial applications to jointly explore innovative development paths in the field.

The opening ceremony was presided over by Prof. Ronghua Li, Dean of the School of Electrical Engineering, Dalian Jiaotong University, China.

Prof. Ting Zhang, Vice President of Dalian Jiaotong University, China, delivered an opening speech. On behalf of Dalian Jiaotong University, Prof. Zhang extended a warm welcome to all the guests. He pointed out that the conference has built an important platform for global scholars in related fields to share achievements and learn from each other, which is of great significance for promoting interdisciplinary integration, industry-university-research collaborative innovation and high-quality development of the field.

In the keynote session, Prof. Xinguo Yu delivered a speech entitled "AI-Human Intelligence Collaboration for Research: Principles, Breakthroughs and Education", systematically sharing the core principles, technological breakthroughs and educational applications of human-machine intelligence collaboration, showing long-term research accumulation and cutting-edge achievements in this field.

Prof. Deepak Kumar Jain delivered a speech entitled "Facial Expression Modeling: From Macro and Micro Features to Explainable AI in Biometric Signal Processing", elaborating on facial feature analysis, biological signal processing and explainable AI.

Prof. Pavel Loskot delivered a speech entitled "Algorithmic Problem Solving Strategies", sharing efficient algorithm design and engineering ideas combined with mathematical modeling, statistical signal processing and machine learning.

Dr. Mark Eligh, Publisher of SAGE/IOS Press, part of SAGE Publishing, delivered an invited academic publishing report entitled "The Publication of Conference Proceedings from the Publisher's Perspective", introducing the specifications, processes and academic communication points of international conference paper publication.

On the afternoon, two parallel sessions were held with topics closely following cutting-edge research and lively discussions.

Session 1: Computer Vision and Industrial Intelligent Inspection

It was chaired by Prof. Qingsheng Feng, Vice Dean of the School of Electrical Engineering, Dalian Jiaotong University, China.

Focusing on computer vision, industrial inspection, medical image processing, pattern recognition and other fields, Prof. Yuchen Jiang from Harbin Institute of Technology, China, Prof. Dimitrios A. Karras from National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, Greece, and Dr. Han Yan, Lecturer of Dalian Jiaotong University, China, delivered speeches in sequence. They reported and discussed frontier topics including intelligent multimodal medical image analysis, industrial image defect detection and lightweight deep learning models, exchanged cutting-edge algorithm models, experimental results and engineering application solutions, fully demonstrating the innovative applications and practical effects of computer vision technology in industrial inspection, intelligent equipment, medical diagnosis and other scenarios.

Session 2: Intelligent Control, IoT and Edge Computing

It was chaired by Assoc. Prof. Tiantian Liang from Dalian Jiaotong University, China.

Prof. Lei Chen from Shandong University, China, Prof. Raffaele Carli from Politecnico di Bari, Italy, Prof. Anand Nayyar from Duy Tan University, Vietnam, and Dr. Liang Yi, Lecturer of Dalian Jiaotong University, China, delivered speeches in sequence. Focusing on intelligent control theory, Internet of Things technology, edge computing applications, energy electronics, rail transit intelligent equipment and other topics, they conducted in-depth discussions on key technologies such as complex system modeling, optimal control, edge deployment and secure communication, promoting the engineering implementation and industrial application of intelligent control, IoT and edge computing in rail transit, energy and power, intelligent manufacturing and other fields.

The invited speakers and the audience engaged in in-depth interactive questioning and exchanges based on the content of the reports.

Q&A session

Meanwhile, an oral presentation session for young scholars was held. Researchers from the University of South Carolina Aiken, USA, Wuhan University of Technology, China, Shandong University of Science and Technology, China and other institutions shared their research results, showing the innovative vitality of the new force in the fields of image processing, electronics and computers.
